The Spanish GP will feature the first of many moves in the drivers market this year. The Russian Kvyiat has been demoted to leave space to wonder boy Verstappen, a coup that many have thought being a consequence of Daniil’s far too aggressive mode at the start of his home race.
Some more acute observers have rightly stated that the exchange was in the air. The reason? Marko & Co.have made that decision to protect their most precious asset and that is making sure that young Max stays with the Milton Keynes squad for longer than written in his contract. Re-negotiation of agreements is a common practice if the driver is at the center of the attention and Verstappen is.
It is no mystery that the young dutchman is possibly the most appetizing bite of the F.1 current starting grid, especially if you consider his young age.
More money and more years (possibly two to three) with RBR, have clinched the deal.
From my point of view there is nobody to blame. The boys in the Red Bull program must know how fragile their position is when they join the scheme. It’s written in the instruction book … The pressure is on and to deserve a seat, you’ve got to prove to be the best, always. If you do not, you know you are a possible target, always. Nobody is irreplaceable, do not forget!!!!
