Another year, another story? Not really sure. I am almost convinced that in 2016 we are going to witness another dominance by Mercedes.
I have said it before: you cannot “invent hot water” in motor sport … winning cycles are called so because they last for 3-4 years or until the change of rules gives other competitors a chance to build the quickest car; for this Toto Wolff & Co. have at least another season to keep shining. Ferrari has done an amazing job in catching up with engine performance and Red Bull a superb effort designing a superior chassis, but I am afraid to say that the Silver Arrow’s winning package still stands alone.
Rosberg has scored four out of four and his championship challengers seem too far away to give him a serious threat. It’s a bit like sailing with a windy edge and coasting the boat to the finish line…..will the breeze last? Will the skipper hold the helm steady?
Nico is such a smart young man. Never abandoned the idea of taking home that precious laurel and this is probably his strongest point. He must only concentrate on managing his advantage and fence off a possible return of “Terrible Lewis” who is the only man in the field riding on the same wave. Rosberg winning the title may be the only novelty this year, the rest is boredom, I am afraid.
