The 2014 season has officially started in Jerez Today. All but one F.1 cars have been revealed, and drivers are taking the first laps around the demanding Andalusian track to find out the whats, the hows and the whys. How are the 2014 changes going to effect my car? Am I going to be the quickest of the pack? Is this new machine going to keep together? They may be the thoughts going through the minds of designers, drivers and technicians during all the official testing sessions this month.
There will be little excitement from now until Q1 in Melbourne as much of the time in between will be spent analyzing data and making new pieces to land with the best possible car at the start of the first GP.
Everyone was waiting for Red Bull to show how Newey interpreted the new rules and the F.1 guru come up with nothing so outrageous, taking the conservative approach, whilst Ferrari, Mercedes and Lotus have gone the more aggressive way….I guess they simply had to catch up..
Gentlemen, start your engines..!
